THE Post Office has launched a public consultation on a proposed move for its Chiddingfold branch from Pockford Road to the village’s Robert Stores.

The deadline for responses is January 7 and, if agreed, the relocated post office branch would be open daily for longer.

Post office services would be provided from a dedicated serving point next to the retail counter of the convenience store in Petworth Road and would be available during shop opening hours.

This means the new opening hours would be Monday to Saturday from 6am to 7pm and on Sunday from 8am to 2pm.

It would add Sundays, plus Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. The relocation would would also mark an end to lunchtime closing.

The move would be with the agreement of the current postmaster and the same wide range of products and services would be on offer.
