MP JEREMY Hunt visited the recently opened Churt Post Office last Friday to see how preparations were going in the build-up to Christmas, the busiest time of year for Post Office branches across the UK.

Churt Post Office, which opened in the village shop this September ending Churt’s 10-year wait without a post office, is offering customers a wide range of services this festive season including everything from Travel Money to seasonal online shopping collections and returns and Royal Mail’s special Christmas stamps.

Mr Hunt said: “It was fantastic to meet the team at Churt Post Office, they provide such a valuable service to the local community. I am so impressed by their dedication and hard work and wish them every success during this busy period.”

Shop owner and new postmaster Ketan Patel added: “Christmas is one of our busiest times of the year. We were delighted that Jeremy Hunt MP took time out from his busy schedule to support us and recognise the valuable service we provide to our local community.”
