AN MP has thrown his weight behind this year's Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Damian Hinds, who represents East Hampshire, was on hand to support the appeal at the Sainsbury's supermarket in Liphook, spending two hours with Colonel Jimmy Jack, collecting and talking to shoppers.
Mr Hinds said: "The Royal British Legion provides immediate support and life-long care to Armed Forces families in need. Last year's £40m raised was a record and this year I hope the Legion can raise even more for their vital work."
The Poppy Appeal runs until November 10 – the day before Remembrance Sunday.
