WEYDON students were allowed to come to school wearing their non-uniform clothing on the last day of term before Christmas, in return for a donation to Step by Step.

Step by Step was founded in 1992 with the objective of empowering young homeless people and those facing adversity across Surrey, Hampshire and the surrounding areas.

Students were asked to bring in non-perishable items including, tinned food, toiletries, dried pasta and cereals. The donations exceeded all expectations and were collected in by staff for sending onto the charity.

Stuart Maginnis, deputy headteacher said: “It is heart-warming to see this huge contribution. Students were bringing in bags bursting with donations and their generosity has been overwhelming.

“I’d like to thank all the parents who have supported this charity. We are very grateful to you.”
