MUM of five Suzanne Bell, from Bordon is searching for her “guardian angel” a decade after she was saved by a Spanish neurologist after suffering a life-changing heart attack at the side of the A27 into Portsmouth.
Unknown to the-then-52 year old, she had a condition – long QT syndrome – that causes high-speed, chaotic heartbeats.
After a minor collision, Suzanne stepped out her car to check for damage and almost immediately “dropped dead”, resulting in her being announced officially dead for 15 minutes.
But ten years after the incident, the-now 62-year-old is in search of her “guardian angel” who performed CPR to save her life.
She told the Portsmouth News: “I am so grateful to the man who stopped to help me that day – I wouldn’t be here without him. I wouldn’t have met all my grandchildren.”
On December 27, 2011, Suzanne was informed it was a Spanish neurologist who strived to keep her alive on the side of the A27 before paramedics arrived.
Paramedics rushed her to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham where she spent almost three weeks in their care. However, it took a year of treatment for Suzanne to fully recover.
Suzanne said: “I would desperately love to find this man who saved my life. I’ve been thinking about it all these years but I only just considered going to a newspaper to try to find him.”
Suzanne is now living with numerous health conditions but takes “joy” in spending time with her extensive family of five children and 11 grandchildren.
