THE mother of a Farnham school boy who died on the Paris Metro on New Year’s Day has said she wants his ashes to be scattered all over the world by friends and family.
Deborah Malone-Newman, mother of 17-year-old free-runner and ex-All Hallows student Nye Frankie Newman, told the BBC she wants his ashes to be scattered in 100 countries, in-keeping with her son’s apparent wanderlust and “impetuous” nature.
A memorial ‘jam’ in Guildford in March saw friends, family and free-runners from all over the world gather in Nye’s memory, with over 400 said to be in attendance.
At the memorial Deborah said: “I ask you all please, carry Nye’s spirit with you forever and always,” giving family and members of his parkour group his ashes to scatter worldwide.
Nye and his friend Rikke Brewer together founded Brewman, a parkour group of free-running athletes that routinely reaches tens of thousands of views across social media and YouTube.
A pre-inquest review into his death was due on May 22, but was postponed with a new date yet to be set.
