MUMS were spoilt this Mother’s Day as Rowledge Village Hall played host to an afternoon of activities in aid of the Rainbow Child Foundation which supports under privileged children from around the world.

Visitors were treated to scrumptious scones with jam and clotted cream, sandwiches and home made cakes and biscuits, all washed with a pot of tea.

The event was hosted by beauty queen Ruth Wade 27, who has been raising money as part of her role in Team England for the Face of the Globe pageant. She leaves for the international finals in London and Disneyland Paris on April 3.

She said: “All of the support I have had from everyone in the community has been amazing. There was a great turnout and the support from the local community was great.

“We raised £325 for the Rainbow Child Foundation which is a charity supporting under privileged children around the world, the money will make a big difference to those children so I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended.

“Wessex Catering Hire sponsored all of the crockery, they were so kind to provide everything free of charge and the plates and cake stands looked beautiful.”
