YOUNG visitors to Haslemere Museum took part in a fun-filled Early Years session last Friday.
Children listened to a story and tried their hands at some owl-related crafts by having a go at making ‘owl food chain’ mobiles and masks. They were able to see the preserved owls from the museum’s collections and saw owl eggs and an owl pellet.
Museum education officer Kay Topping said: “It is great to be able to teach little bits of information to children while they have fun creating. Of course there were some interesting facts to be learned including all about owls nesting in holes and having uneven ear levels to help them pinpoint sound.”
The museum holds regular family drop-in events, as well as regular early years sessions for under fives and museum explorers activity sessions for five-11 year olds. For visit www.haslemere museum.co.uk or call 01428 642112.
