MIDHURST Museum will be asking North Chichester County Local Committee for £2,500 community funding towards buying five display cabinets it needs to expand its exhibitions.

The museum in Knockhundred Market occupies a room 8ft x 6ft sq and has only been open for four years, attracting 14,000 visitors in that time. It wants to expand by renting extra space and has offers of more exhibits, but needs the display cabinets for them.

The committee meets on Tuesday, and has £14,100 left in this year’s budget to give to local groups. In total, £9,177 will be considered for funding by the committee when it meets at Capron House, in Midhurst.
