A NEW push to put Haslemere centre stage has seen the relaunch of its tourist information centre.
The visitor and information centre, formerly funded by the town council, has been rebranded Visit Haslemere and is now financed by the museum where it is now also based.
Visit Haslemere operates six-days-a-week and is run by Heather Matthews and Antoinette Francis. Other museum staff and volunteers will also assist with general visitor enquiries.
Upcoming events are listed on the Visit Haslemere noticeboard at the museum, which also stocks leaflets, including the popular local walks guides.
The information is also online on the Visit Haslemere website.
Heather and Antoinette can answer enquiries ranging from information about public transport to what events are taking place.
The pair also take lead roles in organising key town events, such as Haslemere’s Food Festival, Walking Festival and famous Charter Fair.
Museum chairman Melanie Odell said: “The museum is delighted to take on the formal role of promoting Haslemere and we are privileged to be providing this public service.
“It’s a fantastic town with much to offer and Visit Haslemere will be working hard to champion it.”
