A CHARITY music festival in Tongham has raised £13,600 to be shared between Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and many other local causes.
Nearly 3,000 revellers attended Samfest 2012 last summer, enjoying bands such as Red Hot Chilli Fighters on the hottest day of the year.
Among the crowd was Karina Bryant, the Olympic judo bronze medallist who auctioned the outfit she wore while winning her medal.
The auction also included a signed Snow Patrol guitar, while the children took part in a fancy dress competition.
In addition to the music and entertainment on the day families enjoyed a fairground, an arts and crafts festival market as well as face painters, inflatable rides and a soft play area as well a host of different food outlets and a marquee bar.
A presentation ceremony was held at The White Hart in Tongham on February 2, where members of the community and a representative from Phyllis Tuckwell received their cheques.
As the festival's main beneficiary, Phyllis Tuckwell was awarded £10,880, while the remaining £2,720 was shared between St Pauls Church, Tongham; Tongham Woods Improvement Group; 4th Farnham Scout Group; Tongham Toddlers; Tongham Football Club; Tongham Youth football Club; Tongham Village Hall; Tongham Cricket Club.
Samfest 2013 is on August 17.
