THE monthly ‘Music while you Munch’ organ recitals at St Andrew’s Church, Farnham, will recommence in the new year with the return of Gillian Lloyd on Tuesday, January 10, at 1.10pm.
Gillian is Portsmouth born and first studied piano from the age of five then cello from 11 years old. She holds the FRCO and LRAM organ teaching diplomas and for some years taught cello for the Hampshire Education Authority.
She is currently director of music at the URC in Guildford and has given recitals in the area and London churches including Southwark Cathedral alongside her church work and private teaching.
Her programme will open with JS Bach’s Fugue in G minor then a selection of work by more modern composers.
The recitals last about 45 minutes and are free of charge. Refreshments are available, or take your own lunch, and a retiring collection supports the ongoing programme of guest organists. Everyone is welcome.
