ALTON Operatic and Dramatic Society will bring timeless musical My Fair Lady to Alton’s Assembly Rooms next week.
This well-loved classic offers up a selection of well-known songs, including Wouldn’t It Be Loverly, Get Me to the Church on Time, and On the Street Where You Live.
Experienced vocalist and performer Jane Gray takes up the role of Eliza Doolittle, who receives an aristocratic education from Henry Higgins (Peter Francis) due to an unlikely wager from Colonel Pickering (Jim Woods).
An enthusiastic ensemble are thrilled to be bringing Covent Garden and the Ascot races to Alton.
Billed as “an abso-bloomin-lutely loverly” musical adaptation from George Bernard Shaw’s play and Gabrial pascal’s motion picture Pygmalion, the lyrics are written by Alan Jay Lerner, with music by Frederick Loewe.
Running from May 17-20, evening performances start at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets can be bought from the box office at Wildly Upbeat Printers, Trimmers Alley, Alton, or online at aods.org.
