THE Market Square in Alton will be closed tomorrow and Saturday as a “well-known high street chain” launches its Christmas campaign.

Emily-Jane Messenger, community and events officer at Alton Town Council, described the event as an “incredibly exciting opportunity for Alton”.

“We have been asked by the client to keep their identity secret at the moment so we can’t disclose what is coming to the Market Square as this will give the game away,” she said.

“All I can say is that it is part of a large high street chain’s Christmas campaign. So if you would like to find out more, pop along to the Market Square on Friday for some more clues and then all will be revealed on Saturday.”
