PETERSFIELD police are seeking help to trace a man they believe is deliberately setting out to shock and frighten young women by suddenly appearing close to them naked.
Last week a 21-year-old student was walking her dog along a secluded public footpath alongside Tilmore Brook close to Barnfield Road when she was spoken to by a naked man standing beside the path.
Police say she was not approached or assaulted by the man, who was described as white, aged in his late teens or early 20s with short dark brown or black hair and with a local accent.
Police are linking the incident with another of indecent exposure in Moggs Mead on February 9.
PC Mick Hurst said: ÒThis appears to be a deliberate offence carried out in order to shock and frighten this young lady.
Thankfully the man did not try to approach her but we are still making every attempt to trace him and would like to hear from anyone with any information about this or similar incidents.Ó
