CHARITY Home-Start Winchester, which covers Alresford, has created quite a stir with its plans to hold a naked quiz this week.on Friday, October 14.

However, clothing will be compulsory as the event, which is being sponsored by The Naked Grape of Alresford, has been named in the wine merchant’s honour.

A regular and popular fundraising evening for the family support charity, it will be held in Itchen Abbas Village Hall and the tricky questions will be supplied by inquisitor Mike Davies.

More than 150 guests will test their grey cells and enjoy a supper of lasagne and fudge brownies.

Simon Evans, owner of The Naked Grape, said: “We are delighted to be able to support Home-Start Winchester in this way. I have a young family and admire the work that the charity does in supporting local families who are struggling.

“We have even supplied some questions about wine.”

Home-Start Winchester’s chairman, Liz Cooper, said: “A quiz night is such a great way to raise funds and the money raised will provide a real boost to the support we can give to families.

“We are so grateful to the local businesses that support us and its great to have Simon Evans and The Naked Grape on board.”

The evening’s star raffle prize will be a week in a luxury villa in the south of France. Others include dinner at The Chesil, golf at Royal Winchester, House of Lords Whisky, a hamper from The Good Life and a massage from Heather Mitchell.
