DEPUTY Prime Minister John Prescott has been the talk of the town in Lindford since his affair with Tracey Temple became public knowledge last Wednesday. Residents of Cricket Lea have complained about the media intrusion, as the national press has been camped outside Ms Temple's home all week. One resident of Liphook Road, who wished to remain nameless, said the national press had been continually knocking on doors trying to establish Ms Temple's whereabouts. Ms Temple, 43, had a two-year relationship with Mr Prescott while working as his assistant private secretary. The pair started meeting in secret at his Whitehall flat after their fling began at an office Christmas party in 2002. Ms Temple has spoken out in an interview with the Mail on Sunday newspaper for which she was paid more than £100,000. She said she had gone public to "tell my side of the story". Mr Prescott, MP for Hull East, has said he regrets the affair and it has left his wife Pauline "devastated". Ms Temple's neighbour Moira Packham said: " I have known Tracey since she was a little girl and she was always the sensible one. It does seem odd. "But at least we have finally got a bit of a celebrity living here in Lindford!"
