A NEW 20mph speed limit has been announced for main and residential roads in Lindford.
The 20mph zone on the Liphook Road (B3004) will start 63 metres north of its junction with Frensham Lane and extend 51 metres south of Windsor Road, including part of the B3002 at its junction with the B3004.
The zone will include a number of residential roads in the heart of Lindford.
“Lindford has always been separate from Whitehill and Bordon and should remain so.
“This new 20mph zone is designed to emphasise and safeguard the centre of the village and follows extensive consultation with our community.
“I fought hard to ensure Lindford was included in our first tranche of Village 30s and to promote 20’s Plenty outside our schools.
“At the heart of all this is safety. As with other Hampshire villages, the 20mph is designed to safeguard the village centre so motorists understand they need to slow down when approaching shops and the well-used heart of the village.”
Works should be completed by the end of April.
