RESIDENTS of Surrey can take advantage of a new daily telephone befriending service which aims to keep them socially independent and away from the doctor’s waiting room.
Age Trust is working alongside Home to Home Calls to create a befriending service that works by carefully matching each user with their own daily phone friend who will provide conversation and companionship on a regular basis.
The service also provides a link to the outside world for those who experience loneliness and often acts as a gateway for other services and valuable support. The topic of discussions can range from a simple welfare check and medication reminder.
Anyone interested in the variety of befriending services on offer can call 0800 316 8802.
