THE boardwalk in Bordon's Deadwater Park opened just in time for Christmas.

The opening ceremony was performed by biodiversity expert Professor Chris Baines, the government's biodiversity adviser for eco-towns.

The boardwalk, made from 55 metres of green oak from a sustainable source, forms part of the Royal Woolmer Way - a long-distance footpath from Liss to Frensham, allowing access over a marshy section which had been difficult to walk across.

The cost of the work was £32,425 and was paid for through eco-town funding.
