A LOCAL care home provider that runs home for adults with learning difficulties has announced the opening of a new care home in Lindford.

The new Omega Elifar home, Lindhurst, in Windsor Road is a refurbished, modern home that has been adapted to the highest standards.

These standards include specialist equipment such as hoist facilities, lift and en-suite wet rooms, all of them wheelchair accessible.

Residents living with differing learning disabilities can look forward to the very best care, in a fresh and stylish home in a quiet community.

Most of the residents have been with Omega Elifar for many years, and are moving to Lindhurst from two of their older homes nearby.

Company spokesman Suzie Loose said: “Two of our homes have combined to move into a newly re-furbished, state of the art home in Lindford.

“It is a six bedroom modern home and it has been carefully refurbished to the highest standards.

“Residents can look forward to the very best care, in a fresh and stylish home in a quiet community surrounding.”

The new residents have been making visits to their new home before moving in to see how the work was going.

Suzie added: “They have been involved from the very beginning, donning hard hats to go on-site and to watch progress.”

They also chose how their bedrooms and the communal areas were decorated, including the colour on the walls, pictures and posters, curtains and new furniture.

This latest investment into their care homes means that Omega Elifar is able to continue extending its services.

It also continues to maintain the highest standard of personalised care for their long term residents.

Since being founded in 1985 by Hilary Marsden as Elifar – which stands for ‘Every Life is For a Reason’ – the company has been a leader of local care provision for adults with learning disabilities and more recently, elderly care.

At the time she founded the company, Hilary was a registered general nurse with a young family and was horrified at the conditions she found in the nursing home she was working in.

In response, she established a group of nursing and residential care homes renowned for providing quality lifetime care, and the company recently also opened an innovative, state of the art elderly care home, The Firefly Club in Bordon.
