Waverley Borough Council has submitted its proposed Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) to the Planning Inspectorate for independent examination to enable it to start charging the tariff on new developments in order to raise funds to provide infrastructure.
The CIL charging schedule, produced following two rounds of public consultation during the summer and winter of 2017, sets out what the proposed charges will be.
Badshot Lea councillor Chris Storey, portfolio holder for planning, said: “CIL allows councils to raise funds from developers to fund infrastructure needed across the borough, as a result of development.
“The financial contributions secured will be used to improve roads, schools, parks, playgrounds and other community facilities.”
