Surrey, Kent and Sussex Air Ambulance Trust is to receive a £1million grant from the Government.
The charity received a £1.5million grant in 2014 which was used for the acquisition of a new AW169 aircraft, which will shortly be coming into service.
The new £1million grant will be used for future aircraft acquisition, inorder to deliver the best possible care to patients in the long term.
Charity chief executive Adrian Bell said: “This is brilliant news. We are delighted the Chancellor has decided to give another grant of £1million for future aircraft acquisition.
“This is hugely significant in increasing our capability, and thus, the service we give to our patients and the way in which we care for them.
I would like to thank all of those MPs across the counties who so kindly supported our application.
“It costs in excess of £6.5million per year for the charity to continue its worthwhile service, making a difference to critically ill and injured patients.”
Both sums came from the LIBOR fund, raised via fines from City financial scandals.
