AN appeal by Nigel Hilder, who was initially refused permission to build four detached houses on land at Three Oaks at 104 Chase Road, Lindford, has been dismissed.

The Government inspector’s reasons for upholding the decision of East Hampshire District Council were the effect of the proposed development on the character and appearance of the surrounding area and the living conditions of neighbouring occupiers with regards to privacy, outlook and noise.

The inspector added that it would mean the demolition of outbuildings to the side and back of 104 to build an access road.
