FIREFLIES Kindergarten in Seale, formally known as Tom Thumb nursery, is under new ownership.

As of September the nursery will officially become Fireflies Kindergarten co-owned by husband and wife, Camelia Gherghel and Marius Maftei.

Situated within the village hall in the village of Seale, Fireflies Kindergarten boasts it provides high quality nursery education in a stimulating and caring setting.

The pre-school will be open from 9am until 2.30pm term-time only, and parents will be given a choice of dropping off the children either at 9am or 9.30am and a choice of 1pm or 2.30pm for pick up. They take in children from ages two to five.

“It’s a lovely rural pre-school, it’s really nice and we have access to the North Downs so we go on woodland walks with the children. We go on these walks at least once a week but weather permitting we sometimes go out twice a week because it’s just so lovely, and the children enjoy it so much” said Camelia.

“We take them outside everyday as it’s good to have some fresh air and a change of scenery.

“Everyone is really lovely – I used to work here in the past at Tom Thumb. It’s such a nice community and everyone is so involved and so helpful, it’s unbelievable.

“I have children of my own as well, my little girl went to the nursery and she enjoyed it. It’s like a home from home.. I really enjoy my job and everybody is the same which is quite nice, we are on the same wave length.”

All childcare vouchers are accepted and funding is available for three year olds and subject to criteria two year olds also.

Marius added: “The main improvement for this nursery is that it used to be open until 1pm and now we open until 2.30pm.

“It’s a struggle when you work 9am to 1pm, it’s very difficult even to get a job because it’s four hours but it’s not even four hours because it’s more like three hours with transport included. When you’ve got 9am to 2.30pm you have at least five hours.”
