ALTON has just elected its very first "town mayor on wheels".
Patricia Ann Cole took on the prestigious badge of office during the annual meeting of Alton Town Council on Thursday week, raising the profile for wheelchair users in one deft swoop and bringing a new dimension to Alton's civic pride.
