PARISHIONERS from St Bartholomew’s and St Christopher’s, celebrated their new rectory at an open afternoon with a barbecue and cream tea in the garden.

Haslemere Rector the Rev Mary Bowden was delighted to show everyone her new home, which includes a large study as well as plenty of living space for a family.

The new rectory, serving the two churches which make up the parish of Haslemere, is in Pine View Close. It replaces a much larger one in Derby Road and has been bought and refurbished by the Diocese of Guildford in consultation with the parish.

Rev Bowden said: “It’s a lovely house and works really well as a home and workplace.
