REGISTRATION is now open for Haslemere Festival’s Little Lumpy Cycle Sportive, supported by Cycle Works.
Now in its eighth year, the not-for-profit event’s partner charity for 2016 is Haslemere Citizens’ Advice Bureau.
There are now four levels of endurance for the event on on Sunday, May 15, including a new 19-mile cycle with 1,435ft of climbing, ideal for cyclists new to The Little Lumpy and families of all ages.
The three other levels are Sport: 38-mile cycle with 1,970ft climb; Challenge: 59-mile cycle with 4,073ft climb; Epic: 100-mile cycle with 7,320 ft climb.
All routes are along back roads through the prettiest parts of West Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire to the South Downs at South Harting, where the Challenge and Epic routes branch off, taking riders over some pretty testing climbs.
The start and finish location is again at Woolmer Hill Sports Association clubhouse, with free parking, changing facilities, showers and the comforts of a modern clubhouse.
Free tea or coffee and a bacon butty is provided as a kick start, with feeding stations along the route. Sign up at www.littlelumpy.co.uk or find the event’s Facebook page.
