THE Herald is teaming up with Farnham Weyside Rotary Club this summer to produce a brand new, bigger and better Festival of Transport and Charity Fair.
A bumper line-up of more than 100 pristine vintage, veteran, classic cars, military vehicles, motorbikes and scooters will descend on Upper Hart car park for a static display and parade on Sunday, May 28.
This year will also mark the popular event’s 18th anniversary with an array of food and entertainment on offer, including numerous stalls from local charities and other organisations.
Vehicles will be on display from 10am until around 3pm, with a parade around Farnham from noon on a set route.
There will be live music to keep the event going with the volunteers from the Farnham Weyside Rotary Club providing organisation of the event on the day. St John Ambulance will also be in attendance.
Judging of the vehicles will take place in Upper Hart with the presentation of cups sponsored by Vintage Vogue and The Petersfield Cobbler, for the best vintage car (up to 1935), classic car (up to 1945), car (after 1945), best overall, best motorcycle and a special cup for the most sponsorship money raised.
The Herald and Farnham Weyside Rotary Club are also grateful to Loos For Dos, Farnham Baptist Church for the use of their facilities, and all volunteers for giving up their time.
Michael Buttler, of the Farnham Weyside Rotary Club, said: “Farnham Weyside Rotary is looking forward to working with the Farnham Herald to produce a new-style Festival of Transport.
“We hope it will be a lively, all-day festival around the theme of the classic cars and, of course, we hope to raise funds for charity.
“This is a great opportunity for local charities to promote their work. Stall places at the event will be available and an application form may be obtained from the office of the Farnham Herald or by emailing Mike Yeadon of Farnham Weyside Rotary Club at [email protected].”
Application forms for vehicle entries are also available at the Herald office in West Street, Farnham.
