A NEW support group helping those with life-threatening allergies is launching this Sunday (October 16) in Farnham.
This is just one of many support groups organised by friendly volunteers, from the Anaphylaxis Campaign, which is a support network for parents of children with anaphylaxis and food allergies, as well as adult allergy sufferers.
The sessions are a chance to meet other people with similar problems in the local area, share experiences, swap tips and talk freely in a relaxed setting.
This new group is open to adults with allergies as well as families with anaphylactic children. Places are free but limited and prior notice of attendance is essential.
Volunteer Gill Bushell who will be running the group, said: “I’m a Farnham mum with two children, both with life-threatening nut allergies, and have found the Anaphylaxis Campaign a really helpful source of help and support. Fiona Prior will be our guest speaker for the meeting.
“She’s a long-term volunteer with the Anaphylaxis Campaign and has been living with anaphylaxis for 20 years since her son’s first reaction to peanuts as a baby.”
The event will take place at St Martin’s Hall off Dene Lane, in Lower Bourne, Farnham, from 7.45pm to 8.45pm.
