ALL 1,100 householders in Chiddingfold have been invited to attend a special meeting being organised by Chiddingfold Parish Council on the controversial new town plans for Dunsfold Park. The meeting at the village hall will be next Thursday, May 29, at 8pm and the proposed plans will be available to view from 6pm. Parish council chairman Christine Tebbot said everyone is invited to attend the public meeting. "As 'the next door parish' everyone in the village would be affected by the development, particularly because of road and rail links. Which ever way you look at it, we are right in the firing line," she said. Action group sets up campaign to halt new town AN action group formed to campaign against the development of a new town at Dunsfold Park, is urging people to make their objections known to Waverley Borough Council. Barry Myers, chairman of the Stop Dunsfold Park New Town group, said: "The clock is now ticking and it is crucial that everybody affected by this proposal lodges their objections with Waverley as soon as possible. "This large and complex scheme may have been six years in the planning and taken Waverley five weeks to process, but we only have three weeks in which to register formal objections. I urge everyone to do so as quickly as possible. The objections have to be in by May 30." The council has checked and published the planning application for approval to build 2,600 houses at Dunsfold Park. Mr Myers added: "We estimate that at least 17,000 households in this area will be affected by the added burden on our infrastructure. "The roads, schools, hospitals, railways and other services, most of which are operating at capacity, will suffer hugely. We must act before it's too late."
