PETERSFIELD'S Grange Birth Centre welcomed the new year with the arrival of a baby girl on January 1.
Mum Kelly Hunter gave birth to Bethan at 6.13pm.
Bethan weighed 7lb 2oz and is the first child for Kelly, 29, and her husband George, 30, who live at Waterside Close, Bordon.
The arrival was an early surprise for the parents, as the baby was not due for another two weeks.
Kelly, who is a sister at The Royal Surrey Hospital accident and emergency department in Guildford, was recommended to The Grange by a friend.
"I love the fact it's so homely," said Kelly, of the Swan Street maternity unit. "It is midwife-run, with minimal intervention compared to a hospital setting."
