A BORDON food bank appeal has had an overwhelming response – and will receive a grant from a county councillor’s fund.
In a post online, the bank appealed for donations such as tinned fruit and vegetables and long-life milk.
Councillor Adam Carew spoke to the Herald after leaving “an urgent message” with St Mark’s Church and the reverend to help award the bank a grant.
However, the food bank confirmed to Cllr Carew that they “have had a wonderful response to their appeal for food at Christmas” – and will instead “take up my offer” of a grant in the New Year, “when everyone is feeling the pinch”.
Bordon food bank is based at St Mark’s Church and will be open from 10am to 12.30pm on December 21, 24, 28 and 31.
