BORDON man Nick Frier is due to reach the finishing line in his personal bid to run 1,000 miles in 12 months when he takes part in a 25k cross-country ski walk in Austria on Saturday.
Nick will complete his 1,000-mile challenge as well as achieving another target - to raise £1,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust. Nick, 33, has completed more than 45 official events all over the South East, at his own cost, including the London and South Downs marathons, numerous half marathons, triathlons, trail runs, 10-mile runs, 10ks (10 kilometres, six miles) and 5ks. He has also got married.
Not a regular runner, Nick decided to take up this challenge because he was moved by the plight of the mothers of two of his friends suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS), one of whom sadly died.
He is raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust because of the support it had given to his friends’ families.
