ELVIS fans were treated to a night of nostalgia recently as Dale Fontaine and the TCC Band took to the stage at the Princes Hall in Aldershot, with their tribute to the great man himself.

The performance raised money for local Hospice Care charity Phyllis Tuckwell, which provides end-of-life care for patients and families living with cancer, or another serious progressive illness, in West Surrey and North East Hampshire.

Dale Fontaine (whose real name is Dave Hurrell) has been performing as Elvis for nearly 60 years, having sung his first song by the king in November 1957. His ‘Echoes of Elvis’ show is always hugely popular and was attended by around 300 Elvis fans, who enjoyed classics such as Teddy Bear, Blue Suede Shoes and Can’t Help Falling In Love, as well as songs from support act guitarist Tim Visser.

Also present at the show were Michael Meyer, vice-chairman of the board of trustees at Phyllis Tuckwell, and PTHC staff.

“We would like to thank Dale Fontaine and the TCC Band for once again donating the proceeds from their concert to support local Hospice Care,” said Gemma Craig, community fundraising manager at Phyllis Tuckwell. “Every day we support over 250 patients, relatives and carers, but as the NHS/Government only covers 20 per cent of our costs, we have to raise over £20,000 a day to be able to do this, and therefore rely heavily on the support and generosity of our local community.”
