FARNHAM Rugby Club remains optimistic about its planned move to Monkton Lane, despite learning proposals are not due for considered by Waverley Borough Council until October.
The latest delay has been put down by planners to the volume of material surrounding the application, with the council seeking to evaluate all the public consultation.
Andrew Rubio, of the rugby club, said there had been "a little frustration" at this, in light of the plans having been unveiled in January and put to the council in March.
But he added that with complex issues involved, the club was pleased to have the opportunity to make sure the council had all the facts before the planning committee meeting.
"We still strongly believe that there is a very good case for proposals as it will give Farnham the sports facilities it rightly deserves at no financial burden to the tax payer."
Of the apparently poor response the club received at a recent public meeting, he acknowledged there were issues surrounding the application which had to be resolved.
However, the plans had been subject of many letters of approval to The Herald, and he did not believe those at the meeting were representative of the overall view of Farnham.
He highlighted the petition signed by 2,500 residents in support of the plans put forward in conjunction with David Lloyd Leisure.
