PLANS for a "budget, no frills" 40-bedroom, lodge-style hotel and fast food restaurant at Liphook Service Station have been given the go ahead by East Hampshire District Council's south planning committee.

The new two-storey motor lodge will be built as part of the service complex on the southbound carriageway.

The site is north-west of Liphook and will cash in on the extra traffic using the new A3 Hindhead Tunnel, which is due to open next summer.
