RESIDENTS and businesses in the area once occupied by Farnham's gas works have received reassurances that deposits left behind decades ago represent little or no risk to health.

An initial soil sampling for pollution, which began in December 2009, has been followed by further investigations funded by the Environment Agency, including Weybank Close and the Riverside Industrial Estate.
