EAST Hampshire District Council’s Rural Areas Play Project (RAPP) and Get Activ8d schemes kept children busy over the Easter holidays.

The RAPP van visited Woodlands Hall, in Headley Down, on April 13, for Rainbow Rice Art - an event that gave children under age 11 the opportunity to get colourful and creative with unusual materials.

The Rural Areas Play Project was created in response to the absence of sustainable play and childcare facilities during the school holidays in swathes of East Hampshire, particularly in the rural parts of the district.

For older children, East Hampshire District Council offers Get Activ8d, a similar scheme for seven to 14 year olds, launched in 2008 on the back of RAPP’s success.
