ALTON wheelchair tennis ace Peter Norfolk had the honour of carrying the Union Flag at the stunning opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games last night.

The Quadfather, as he is known across the international circuit, led out the big GB contingent in front of a noisy and partisan sell-out crowd at the Olympic Stadium.

Norfolk is appearing in his third Paralympic Games, keen to win a third men's quad singles title in a row at the Eton Manor tennis centre in the Olympic Park.
