Crime involving anti-social behaviour fell in central Farnham by nearly 50 per cent during the last quarter of 2025 according the latest police figures, writes Angelica Wade.
But overall crime levels rose to their third-highest point for the year in November with 77 being reported – a rise of 13 per cent on the month before.
Most took place in the town centre with incidents involving Violence or Sexual Offences (VSOs) being the most frequently reported on 32, well up from 14 in October.
There were slight increases in crimes involving shoplifting (8) and criminal damage (7), with ASB incidents dropping from 15 to eight over the month.
The Borough and the South Street were the town centre’s “crime hotspots” with nine and seven incidents being reported, respectively.
Three stop and searches were also carried out with a man aged 18 to 24 being arrested on Stoke Hills in connection with a suspected drug-related crime.
There was a slight increase in the number of crimes reported in the Wrecclesham, Rowledge and The Bourne patch with 49 compared to 40 the month before.
Nearly half the figure involved VSOs (22) with anti-social behaviour and ‘other crimes’ being the next most frequently reported with six apiece. The areas that saw the most police activity were Langham court, Middlefield, Bardsley drive and Greenfield Road.
Finally, there was good news around the north and north-eastern corner of Farnham with a 24 per cent drop being reported in the Weybourne, Badshot Lee and Moor Park area.
Some 25 crimes were reported in November compared to 33 in October with nine involving VSOs.
There were three burglaries, however, with incidents on Brook Avenue and Knights in Weybourne being reported along with a further case off Waverley Lane in Compton.
