Farnham Town officially begin pre-season training on July 3, but manager Andy Nunn is inviting the players to start their preparations much earlier than that.

He is holding light training sessions at Heath End School on Tuesdays and Thursdays (7-9 pm), starting this week.

"It's just a way of keeping things ticking over," said Nunn who is keen to build a strong bond between the players after the traumas of last season.

"Everyone is welcome, club members and anyone else."

As part of his long-term plans for building up the club, Nunn has got the committee's go-ahead to form an Under-18 side for next season, hopefully playing in the mid-week Allied Counties League.

The joint managers will be Tommy Powers Snr and Stuart Magimmis, with Tony Grimes helping out. Any players wishing to become involved should contact Tommy Powers on 01420 479613.

Farnham are also looking for a reserve team manager. Contact Andy Nunn (01252 654697 - mobile 07741 004898) for details.

Farnham will play their first pre-season friendly on July 21 when both senior teams travel to Sussex Senior League club Hassocks.

Aldershot Town have been fined £200 by the FA for their part in an incident at Maidenhead United last January.

The size of the fine reflects the staunch defence that Aldershot put up at the hearing in London on Tuesday and the club had no argument with the decision.

"It was a good hearing and the panel were very thorough with the evidence," said George Borg. I see the fine as a not guilty verdict. They obviously took into account the action we took ourselves."

Mark Pye's sending-off sparked off the incident at Maidenhead and the player was fines two weeks' wages by the club.
