MILLAIS Nurseries has won its fourth consecutive gold medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for its rhododendron display celebrating the centenary of the Rhododendron Society, now known as the RHS Rhododendron, Camellia and Magnolia Group (RCMG).

David Millais, owner of Millais Nurseries and the chairman of the RCMG, said: “I am delighted that Millais Nurseries has won another gold medal at Chelsea particularly in this special year marking the centenary of the RCMG.

“It has been a challenging season with the weather and I am really proud that our team managed to pull off such a wonderful display successfully demonstrating how diverse rhododendrons can be.”

David was honoured to meet the Queen and presented her with a bouquet of rhododendrons. The bouquet was made by the Rhododendron, Camellia & Magnolia Group and contained rhododendrons collected from Ramster Gardens, near Chiddingfold in Surrey.

Millais have introduced some very interesting new varieties at this years’ show – three of which were nominated for Plant of the Year and made it into the Top 10.
