THE children and parents of Privett nursery school all had smiles on their faces on Wednesday this month when they held a tea party in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The slogan ‘Change lives with every slice’ was even written in icing sugar on top of one cake, while fairy cakes, flap jacks, biscuits and decorated cream sponges filled the plates on October 5.

One mum, Lisa Seal, baked a large chocolate cake covered in butter cream which was sold to the highest bidder.

Nursery leader Kate Pritchard was happy with the delicious afternoon get together. She said: “Privett’s target was to raise £100 for the charity and the children have really enjoyed inviting their parents to share afternoon tea and cake together.”
