PLANNING applicants have appealed to the planning inspectorate against the councils' refusal to permit development on a property in Oakhanger. The application made for Church Cottage, Oakhanger was refused by district councillors on two counts: Firstly, the applicants wanted to extend the garden beyond the house, which would set a precedent for other residents. Secondly, the land includes a site of scientific interest, and therefore should not be built on. Details of the applicants' grounds of appeal, can be inspected at the council offices during normal working hours. The appeal, will be dealt with by the inspectorate and will involve an exchange of written statements and a site inspection. Members of the public are welcome to make representations about this appeal. Correspondence received by the inspectorate, will be considered before a conclusion is reached. Copies of all comments that were made at the application stage, have already been forwarded to the inspectorate. Anyone who has written correspondence on the matter, but wish to modify, elaborate or withdraw any earlier comments, three copies of the new letter will need to sent direct to the inspectorate. Please ensure that your comments are received by the inspectorate by August 3rd otherwise they will not be considered.
