THE much-loved Odiham fire show, one of the biggest of its kind in the country, is returning this year.

The weekend of August 6-7 will see Odiham fire station put on a show with the help of their families, friends and fire service preservation group.

After a hiatus in 2014 after the desired site proved to be unsafe, 2015 bought it back to life with a bang, attracting over 5,000 visitors.

With gates opening at 10am on the Lodge Farm site just off junction 5 on the M3 visitors will be treated to modern and vintage fire engines hopefully basking in the summer sun.

Throughout the day there will be displays of firefighting from across the ages, as well as trade and craft stands, memorabilia and fire engine model tents.

For the younger audience there will also be a fair ground with numerous fun fair attractions, while parents will also have the choice of beer tents and catering stands.

The show will go hand-in-hand with and be in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity, with the majority of proceeds from the day going to the charity.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance will also be partnering the day, and will be receiving a share of the proceeds, with 2015 seeing 10 per cent of takings heading their way.

The show, which has been running since 1992, is organised by the retained crew at Odiham Fire Station where, since its inception, has gone on to raise around £90,000 for the two charities.

Prices for children and seniors is just £3 for the day and £5 for adults, while family tickets which includes two adults and children under the age of 16 will cost just £10.

Organisers also say all live fire displays are subject to change or cancellation and may vary from those shown in the programme.
