USERS of Liphook's Peak Centre were given a luxury treat this week by Martin Shaw, owner of Old Thorns Manor Hotel.
The day centre faced a two-day closure, while tree-felling experts Green Frontiers took down a large turkey oak which was leaning dangerously over the side of the building in Midhurst Road.
Thanks to parish councillor Eve Hope, who approached Mr Shaw about the elderly residents' plight, they were able to watch television, enjoy coffee, tea and cakes in the hotel's Champagne bar, and have a two-course lunch in the carvery as part of their day out.
