ENTRIES have been flooding in for the 2016 popular Alice Holt races, organised by Farnham Runners.

The races will begin with the 10km and 5km events at 11am on Saturday, September 17, with 1km and 3km for youngsters around 1pm.

The courses will follow scenic undulating trails through the forest, generally on smooth hard-packed gravel making it safe and fast for off-road running.

Andrew Lodge Estate Agents in Farnham is proud to be sponsoring the Alice Holt Race Series for the fourth time and Grant Walters, director at the firm, said: “Once again we are pleased to support this super event which offers something for both fun and regular runners.

“We are delighted to be part of the races as they enable people to be active in a beautiful setting. There is always a great atmosphere on race day and we hope many local people will enter.”

Sponsors are essential to the staging of the day and Downing Street hairdressers Grant & Co are also key sponsors.

Grant & Co partner Debbie Flanders said: “Shelley and I are looking forward to the event with the race goers and maybe seeing some of our clients.”

Race director Craig Tate-Grimes added: “We have already received a good number of entries year so runners should enter in good time to avoid disappointment.

“We won’t be able to accept entries on the day for the 5km or 10km, although on line entries will be open until 10pm the night before - as long as the entry limits haven’t been reached.

“The 1km and 3km can be entered up to one hour before each race.”

There is chip timing, even for the children’s races, with sweets for them at the finish.

“In addition, free parking, kilometre marking, three water and two sponge stations and a supervised baggage tent, make this probably one of the best value races in the UK,” said Craig.

Attractions on site will also be open including the Forest Cafe, shop, children’s adventure play areas, mountain bike hire and Go Ape!
