A NEW non-profit organisation in Farnham has launched an online store earlier this month.
Enterprise19 is the sister organisation of Post19 which is a life-skills centre for young adults with learning disabilities.
The aim of enterprise19 is to create an organisation that allows access to work experience in a supportive and accessible environment.
Dan McCormack, deputy manager of Post19, said: "We started this from scratch, although some of us have some experience none of us have done anything quite like this before and we’re learning everything as we go, it’s quite exciting really.
"We’d like to expand the online side of things but eventually we’d like a full shop, somewhere in town where people could come in and see our products hands on."
Its online store features a range of products, from cards to calendars and up-cycling to mosaics, all of which are handmade by the young adults involved in the organisation.
Fran Fry, social media lead, said: "We’ve got a lot of very talented artists who access the service.
"So it’s good to have enterprise19 as an outlet for that art, as well as work experience, to be able to put their work out there."
Joe Gamble is one of the young adults accessing the service and said: "Basically what we do is we make products and some of the products we sell online, we don’t sell all the products we make. f it’s being sold out that means it’s a good product, if it’s not sold out or not selling at all that means it’s a bad product."
One hundred per cent of the profits are reinvested back into the business and most of enterprise19’s income is generated through sales to the Farnham community.
As well as designing and creating products, the enterprise19 team assist in managing the website, social media and sales.
Chloe Gerrard is the website assistant and has been with Post19 since it begun six years ago.
She said: "I help design the website and also help figure out ways to sell things and keep people interested.
"It’s difficult to keep one theme going because it changes so much but I think we do really well actually, now we’ve got the hang of it updating pictures and that is getting better and posting is very important."
Social media assistant Susy Rojas de Paz said: "At the moment we’ve been on Facebook deleting some things and comments and trying to make Facebook better. Computers are really good for me because it helps me with my hands and it helps me with the technology as well.
