THE village of Farringdon opened its gates to the annual Open Gardens event which raised over £1,000 towards the running of the Farringdon Horticultural Society and the parish church.
The event featured eight very different gardens, all outstanding with so many trees and plants displaying a kaleidoscope of colour and fragrances.
The weather was kind and the tea and cakes very popular.
There were also plants to buy and ice cream for sale curtesy of The Traditional Ice Cream Company.
Visitors travelled from all around, including a couple who had made the journey specially from Eastbourne.
According to organising committee member Chrys Browne: “Some people have visited over the years and say how much they enjoy seeing how the gardens have evolved.
“It is always enjoyable to talk about the garden to likeminded interested people.”
She added: “It is only through the hard work and commitment of individuals in the village and committee members that we are able to showcase fabulous Farringdon.”
